U.S.-Arab cooperation in the Gulf: are both sides working from the same script?

The primary thesis of this paper is ironic and perhaps tragic: as U power and predominance have risen in the large bay to the point that the region is mainly pendent on the United States for its security wants the differences between the United States and regional actors in political watch purported national and international interests, and threat assessments have multiplied and undermined mutual trust. As the United States has become more important to the region, the region has become more suspicious of U goals and critical of U influence.
