Deadline Approaching for The NEA Foundation's June Grant Review

APPLICATIONS ARE owed BY JUNE 1, 2006, FOR the two INNOVATION AND LEARNING & LEADERSHIP GRANTS.

Recipients will be notified by dint of November 15, 2006. Grants capital activities for 12 months from the award date.

Innovation Grants and Learning & Leadership Grants are available for all controls including the arts, literacy, mathematics, science, and technology. Grant amounts are $5000 for Innovation Grants and either 52000 (individual) or 55000 (group) for Learning & Leadership Grants.

The National Weather Association presents Sol Hirsch Education Fund grants of S500 each to teachers in grades K-12 to improve the education of their pupils in meteorology. Selected teachers may use the stocks to take an accredited course in atmospheric sciences, attend a relevant workshop or talk or purchase scientific materials or equipment for the classroom.

Believing that interaction with real-world mentors can boost scholar interest and achievement in math, the Actuarial Foundation awards its "Advancing pupil Achievement" (ASA) grants to academys and groups with underserved populations in grades 4-12 that are willing to unravel mentoring programs bringing together actuaries, educators, and scholars

The Foundation can provide a local network of actuaries who are ready to participate, as well as suggestions upon how to integrate math conceptions from the workplace into the classroom.

Applicants will be given wide latitude in designing programs that enhance learning and create a have affection for of math in each scholar

Preference is given to innovative programs that satisfy the unique opportunities and necessitys present in a local community and do not replicate existing grant programs. Funding is for sum of two units years with evaluations conducted yearly.

Using this guide, pupils and teachers can explore their academys and recognize architectural and mechanical features, as well as maintenance operations that can contribute to useful or poor IAQ.

They will learn by what mode occupant behavior and people's typical activities can dramatically affect the quality of air inside buildings. With their OUTI art and photography, learners can create an "owners manual" for their indoor environment by dint of customizing the guide to include their seminary building's features and typical activities.
