U.S. Bancorp merges surcharge-free ATM networksElan Financial Services and Genpass have complet the merger of the MoneyPass and Fastbank at liberty surcharge-free ATM networks. The merger was announced earlier this year. The novel network, which will operate below the MoneyPass name, provides more than 10000 ATMs in 48 states, making it the third-largest surcharge-free ATM network. U Bancorp purchased Genpass in May 2005 MoneyPass is operated through Genpass. U.S. Bancorp has have a title toed Elan Financial Services for more than three decades. Elan operates the Fastbank independent network. Elan's separate Fastbank ATM network, which operates with standard surcharges, is unaffected by means of the merger. "We are extremely excited about the tremendous opportunity that MoneyPass presents to both card issuers and ATM owners" said Jan Estep business manager for Elan Financial Services and Genpass. "Consumer have been shown to actively look after out surcharge-free access to their coin so both financial institutions and ATM deployer can benefit by the agency of attracting these consumers to their ATMs by the agency of offering a surcharge-free network." MoneyPass now has more than 600 participants, bringing more than 21 million cardholders into the MoneyPass network.
