In memoriamIT IS WITH GREAT SADNESS that ASQ announces the death of Samih Farsoun upon 9 June 2005 at the age of 68 in of recent origin Buffalo, Michigan. Samih was born in Haifa, Palestine. For many years Samih was a distinguished editor of Arab Studies Quarterly and serv as President of the Arab American University Graduates (AAUG). He baseed the Arab Sociological Association and was a founding comrade of the Middle East Studies Association. He was also the founding Dean of Academic Affairs and the corporation of Arts and Sciences at the newly established American University of Kuwait where he serv until February 2005 His scholarly analyses in the politics and sociology of/he Arab world remain a lasting memorial to his many contributions to the field.
