Dear Ranger RickMAKING TRAILS at any time wonder who takes care of hiking trails? Sometimes kids do! each summer our family joins a proffer trail crew (below) in single of Washington State's wilderness areas. It is hard work AND it is really fun! Bushes can swell over a trail in just a pair of years, so we lay out a lot of time cutting them back. Also, trails can be washed away above the winter, so we have to rebuild them. We have rebuilt bridges, built drainage ditches, made paces and even made a whole of recent origin section of trail. (See photo at right.) upon week-long trips, horses carry our supplies and tools to a campsite. Our camp prepare for the table makes sure we have allotments of snacks to keep our intensity up during the day. After work, he makes us awesome meals. We start work early in the morning and quit early enough in the afternoon to have time for swimming, fishing, and exploring.
