When teachers are stand in front ofed with difficult situations in the classroom, where do they revolve for information and advice? rife research suggests that many practicing teachers do not use educational research to make decisions in the classroom (Gitlin, Barlow, Burbank, Kauchak, & Steven 1999) If teachers do not rely upon research to learn about teaching, where other might they turn? Strickland (1988) provided a list of the ways that teachers learn about teaching:
