Golden wins 2006 Kingsville International String Competitions

22-year aged violinist from Cleveland, Ohio, won first place in the 2006 Kingsville International String Competitions. of gold will receive a total of $9250 and will perform with the Victoria, Texas, consonance Orchestra during its 2006-2007 season. She is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and publicly studies with Paul Kantor at the Cleveland Institute of Music.

Susan Jang, from Wauconda, Illinois, a pupil of Almita Vamos, won next to the first place in the final competition. Third place went to Shannon to leeward from Plano, Texas, and Sifei Wen, 19 from Alhambra, California. to leeward studies with Jan Sloman, and Wen studies with Eleonore Schoenfield.

Winners in the string solo competitions, which are held in conjunction with the concerto competitions, were: Precollege Solo First Place: Susan Jang; community Solo First Place: Celeste of gold who also received the $1000 Harriet Munguia Memorial Award as outstanding solo artist.

The 25th annual competition awarded more than $20000 in prizes to young string players beneath age 26. There were 90 entries in four different contests
