Discarded Tires Recycled to Clean Up Groundwater.

University of Wisconsin-Madison researchers have discovered that placing a sub layer of ground-up automobile tires beneath US golf courses can absorb harmful organic mixs and prevent the leaching of pollutants from commonly used greens' fertilizers into groundwater. Scientists estimate that around 23 million strikes of pesticides and fertilizers are applied to US golf courses each year.
