CONGRATULATIONS

Kari Bohyer CA, CPA (Illinois) has been promot to the position of manager at Nykiel Carlin & Co a Chicago-area accounting firm. Bohyer provides audit and accounting services to clients in the professional service and manufacturing fields.

Arvinder Bubber, CA, of A. s Bubber & Associates, and Brandt Louie, FCA, president of HY Louie, have been named to the of recent origin Asia Pacific Trade Council by means of Premier Gordon Campbell. The Council will advise regulation on creating new business opportunities and partnerships in burgeoning Asia-Pacific economies-particularly China and India.

Michael Chan, CA, has been appointed as a public representative upon the board of the novel College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia. Chan is the president of Allied public-house Properties, Inc., and is the former public representative upon the board of directors for the Registered Nurses' Association of British Columbia.

Ray Mack, CA, was freshly elected president of DFK International during the association's annual conversation in San Francisco. DFK International is an international network of independent accounting firms and businesses advisors. Mack was president of DFK Canada Inc. from 1995 to 1998 and is the next to the first Canadian to head up DFK International in its 43-year history. individual of four founding members of the firm Kenway Mack Slusarchuk Stewart LLP in Calgary, Mack is a member in the couple Alberta and BC.



Rick Mudie, CA, a partner with Grant Thornton in fresh Westminster, is chair of the 2005/06 board of the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation.

Fr Watkin, CA, newly accepted the newly created position of audit manager with Sievert & Associates LLP in downtown Toronto. The company deals with TSX-V listed junior exploration companies operating in Northern Ontario, as well as a certain number of larger privately-held companies in the Greater Toronto Area. Watkin's responsibilities include training and caseware development

This past September, Don Miller, CA, the chief operating officer of Alexander Holburn Beaudin & Lang in Vancouver, received a Carnegie Medal for extraordinary heroism for helping to save the life of Martina H Seymour in August 2004 (www.carnegiehero.org/ awardees_recent.php). Miller was single of 21 recipients (and single 2 Canadians) recognized by the Carnegie Hero stock Commission in Pittsburgh. Earlier this year, Miller received the Medal of Bravery from the Governor General of Canada.

Entrepreneur of the Year award winner

Maheb Nathoo, CA, has won the 2005 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award (Pacific region) in the manufacturing category. We profiled Nathoo's entrepreneurial succes in our Vancouver day-star Province, and Times-Colonist supplements this past September.
