January machine tool consumption totaled $24615 million according to the AMT -- The Association For Manufacturing Technology and AMTDA, the American Machine Tool Distributors' Association.
This total was down 17% from December and down 224% from the total of $31721 million reported for January 2000 The regional breakdown, and its comparison to the previous month is as follows:
