Daniel M Gaines, a Vanderbilt gymnasium of Engineering Assistant Professor of Computer Science, has lay opened software that helps companies use their existing equipment to improve operations and unfold manufacturing problems. By programming computer to use more [i]or[/i] less of the same creative problem-solving techniques nation often use, Gaines and his associates have created a a whole that can generate a wider range of improvements and solutions than traditional operations-planner programs.
"The traditional operations-planning approach makes too many assumptions," he says.
