Creative incentives enrich Leggett's deal

CLEMSON — For a long-awaited contract that specified the smallest detail, single would think baseball coach Jack Leggett would have noticed single major flaw.

Clemson got the extent of the deal wrong.

Leggett injury up signing a four-year deal meant to last five years — a misprint place of education officials corrected Tuesday.

Clemson's coach of 13 seasons will indeed be signed from one side 2011 under terms of the contract the institute made available Tuesday in reply to a Freedom of Information Act suit by multiple media outlets.

More than a year after agreeing in principle to an extension, Leggett and athletics director Terry Don Phillips finalized last week an incentive-laden deal.
