The National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg,
Md has render free of accessed a new manufacturing research facility to work upon
a class of "parallel" machining center of which hexapods are part.
At the center NIST and its partners in private industry will benchmark
these machines and eventually enhance their performance.
