Retrofit cranks up lathe production. (Swiss Tech Precision Inc.'s useof OmniTurn system)

A retrofit package boost turning capacity at Swiss-Tech Inc., in Delavan,
Wis. The manufacturer of Swiss-style screw-machine parts uses hydraulic
lathes for mainly high length-to-diameter workpieces but also turn rounds
conventional parts with larger diameters.

Swiss-Tech first upgraded a Hardinge Brothers DSMA lathe because its
1-in. capacity suited Swiss-Tech's typical piece of work sizes. The machine'
s hydraulic a whole and many of the electrical constituents were beyond
salvage, on the other hand its spindle, motor, and frame were still in useful condition,
which made retrofitting a practical
