The modular design of today's lasers give automakers up to 45 kW of
welding capability.

High-power C[Osub2] lasers, averaging above 6 kW, are finding fresh
applications in welding and cutting heavy sections, high-speed welding,
and surface treating. The powerful novel lasers are replacing electron
beam and other technologies, especially in the automotive industry.
This industry was the first to widely accept lasers in production,
particularly for welding.

Presently production constituting thicknesses range from 15 mm at 14
