New coating tackles titanium, nickel, and Co-Cr-Mo alloys for the medical-
device industry.

While stainless carburet of irons cast metals, and titanium, nickel, and Co-
Cr-Mo alloys adapted the demanding requirements for medical implants
and devices, these materials were not easily machined - until now.

Conventional titanium-nitride coatings favorably mill, turn, hob,
and broach carbonized iron alloys, but fall on these hard-to-machine alloys.
