Norman to design second course at TPC of San AntonioGreg Norman, who has combined a World Golf Hall of Fame playing career with a thriving golf course design business, has been picked to design the second course at the Tournament Players bludgeon of San Antonio. The announcement was made jointly through Greg Norman Golf Course Design and the three partners for the TPC of San Antonio and surrounding JW Marriott Resort complex--the PGA Tour, Marriott International and Lumbermen's Investment Corporation. Norman joins Pete coloring liquor as the lead golf course designers for the 36-hole shoot forward which is scheduled to break sod in spring 2006. "I am excited about pooling the collective resources of Marriott, Lumbermen's, Pete coloring liquor and the TPC Network to create an unmatched resort destination," Norman said. "I am confident that this golf course will positively throw back on the rich history and distinct character of San Antonio." The world-class golf resort, which will feature a 1000-room JW Marriott Resort, will be located north of downtown San Antonio upon a 2,855-acre tract owned by dint of Lumbermen's. Marriott will develop and manage the resort and will retain PGA Tour Golf Course Properties to operate the golf facilities. Norman: "This course will utilize the natural hill land topography and indigenous flora to strengthen the environmental balance in the landscape."
