Alcatel Introduces New Open-Standard Voice Over Packet Solutions - Product AnnouncementService providers can now draw gradually together voice and data networks with Alcatel's Voice above Packet (VoP) solutions. Alcatel (NYSE: ALA), a global communications leader, combines extensive voice expertise with the latest packet capabilities to deliver carrier-class, open-standard solutions. Designed for multi-vendor networks, Alcatel's fresh VoP suite -- the Alcatel SoftSwitch, Trunking Gateway, Signaling Server Packet Tandem and Intelligent Network (IN) applications -- provides the flexibility required for today's converg networks. Alcatel's VoP suite includes harvests that enable established service providers to leverage their existing networks and proffer converged voice and data services to their subscribers, while protecting their investment.
