Jacob Lawrence - exhibit of panel series of paintings to open September 23, 1993Fifty-two years have passed since Jacob Lawrence's Migration of the black man series was last circulated, and the 60-panel place of narrative paintings hasn't been shown together since 1972 Lawrence, who came to prominence as an African-American artist in the 1940 is known for creating vibrant, thought-provoking works with universal themes.
