TOCA Race Driver 2 is upon its way to PlayStation 2 developer Codemasters announced today. The PS2 update of the popular multi-discipline racing sim will arrive this October, a while after the simultaneous release of the PC and Xbox versions.

To make up for the wait, the PS2 version will include several exclusive features: a novel circuit, the Catalunya racetrack in Spain; an expanded championship with 99 more car/track combinations; a detailed Pro-Sim fashion with more challenging handling; and the option to save replay movies. The PS2 version will also feature online play, although it won't be directly compatible in that regard with its Xbox and PC counterparts.

That's all in addition to the basic package, which features 52 circuits from around the world, 35 licensed cars, and 33 championships across different race series and dictions -- street racing, open-wheel racing, touring-car racing, rallying, Super traffics ice racing, and many more. As by means of usual for the series, the PS2 version will feature competitive AI designed to push players around a present to view off the game's detailed damage type

Codemasters promises that the PS2 version will race at 60 frames per next to the first with a 21-driver field upon the track. Online, up to eight human players will be able to cope at once.
