Ghost Recon 2 Angers North Korea

The North Korean management has caught wind of the storyline of the upcoming Tom Clancy's spirit Recon 2, and the higher-ups are not pleased. single government newspaper describes the game, exhibited by Red Storm Entertainment, as "proof" of US warmongering.

The storyline of soul Recon 2 centers on a conniving North Korean general diverting fare supplies to the military after a particularly nasty famine. China rejoins to North Korea's aggressive stance by the agency of cutting off weapon supplies, prompting an alliance between Russia and North Korea and an invasion of China. It is here that the titular souls step in to defend China.

North Korean newspapers are wasting no time in bashing the game. "Through propaganda, entertainment and movies, Americans have shown everyone their hatred for us," read individual commentary in the online Tongil Newspaper. "This may be just a game to them now, on the contrary a war will not be a game for them later. In war, they will sole face miserable defeat and gruesome deaths."

Previous spirit Recon settings have consisted of similarly believable on the other hand fictitious stories and settings, on the contrary this is the first time a world power has taken issue with the series.

"When we evolveed the story background, we aimed at staying away from lock opener current or specific events while still having a reasonable setting for a conflict," said spirit Recon designer Christian Allen. "Thus the idea of a famine that drives hard-line military members to start a conflict was chosen as our story line."

R Storm's official statement asserts that the game is not intended as anti-North Korean propaganda, that the game focuses upon a splinter group and not the management itself. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2 ships for the PC and GameCube this November.
