Xenosaga Episode II

Xenosaga Episode I was a game badly in ne of a succeeding part It's not as if we didn't already know it was getting single or indeed five of them, if Monolith Soft's Tetsuya Takahashi actually manages to finish his conceived six-part science fiction RPG epic. on the other hand even so, the ending rather came as a surprise. Or the lack of an ending, really. Nearly each loose end that could be left hanging, well, would up left hanging.

Two and a half years later, that continuation is nearly finished, ready to tie up a certain quantity of of those ends and yank a scarcely any of its own loose again. Xenosaga Episode II, subtitled "Jenseits von intestine und Bose" or "Beyond profitable and Evil" after another Friedrich Nietzsche body is ready to arrive late nearest month in Japan, and it won't take an inordinately drawn out time coming to North America. Namco Hometek has confirmed that the localized version of the game will arrive in the first quarter of 2005

Where to Begin?

Though numerous tortuous analyses of Takahashi's plans for this series posit that it will eventually make tense over hundreds or thousands of years of continuity, Episode II picks up right where Episode I left not on After spending most of Episode I upon a trip to the planet of next to the first Miltia, Shion Uzuki and the ease of her comrades on the tramp freighter Elsa finally make it to where they were headed.

Exactly what waits for them there is more manifold especially since Episode II direct the eyes to be skipping back and forth in time a bit. Shion is to stir back to a supporting character (although the game may still shed a certain number of light on the mysteries in her past), while Jr stirs forward into the nominal lead. Several flashback successions promise to explore his younger days as a URTV soldier (particularly his upbringing in an experimental facility alongside the proof subjects who would become Albedo and Gaignun Kukai), as well as other facts surrounding the Miltian Conflict.

Also joining the spotlight upon Second Miltia is Jin Uzuki, Shion's brother, who lives there at the two's family abode As it turns without he makes his living running a bookshop while cultivating his interest in traditional Japanese agriculture in his spare time. The sum of two units of them don't seem to earn along terribly well, but siblings are repeatedly like that. Other exhibitions on Second Miltia take place at the Vector Corporation's headquarters (where the shadowy Wilhelm may make a go or come back appearance), and Moby Dick's Cafe, single of Shion's favorite hangouts in her younger days.

Once the piece of ground gets cranked up, other locations tend hitherward to play -- the trailer displays off a massive space battle around the U-TIC keep of Pleroma, as well as another floating space station called Ormus. Ensconc between the sum of two units black holes that destroyed of advanced age Miltia, it might serve as the resting place of the original Zohar. Those shows lie buried a little deeper in the game's piece of ground however.

Guess Who's Back

Almost all of the Episode I cast get backs in Episode II -- Shion, KOS-MO Chaos, the Elsa ship's company Jr.'s sidekicks, Helmer, Juli Mizrahi, the U-TIC organization, and naturally the villain Albedo -- on the contrary some characters have been redesigned to varying stages The female cast members in particular are a little more sanely-proportioned, which is a marked improvement in each case -- Shion and MOMO direct the eye far more attractive than the animated garage kits of Episode I.

KOS-MO has received a similar makeover, and her pattern is more detailed now, including a certain quantity of bits of her mechanical anatomy revolveed translucent and streaked with animating activity She also has a novel conveyance to play with -- her "coffin," as it were, the seed-vessel in which she interfaced with the Encephalon, has been transformed into a stylish motorbike.

With solitary one wheel, for whatever reason

On the downside as far as redesigns proceed Jr.'s wearing chaps now, on the contrary they can't all be winners. Incidentally, since Namco has already spoiled the surprise as far as by what mode Shion lost her glasses, we may as well pass it upon It's nothing as momentous as you might have musing -- Allen Ridgley just happened to accidentally pace on them during the Elsa's tumultuous landing on Second Miltia.

A hardly any other characters are entirely fresh or moving from cameos in Episode I to more fleshed-out parts in the sequel. Here are a hardly any profiles of the newer faces.

Canaan

The individual entirely new character appearing in Episode II, he's a specially-designed Realien in the service of the Vector Corporation. although he's a specialized model of artificial human, he's still deficient in a certain number of regards -- for instance, he still has a fairly robotic manner of speech, and displays real little in the way of emotion. He have the appearances to have been designed for special thicket operations, like an investigation upon the Miltian surface during the war.

In the Episode II demo he appears in a flashback, co-piloting the E Asher prototype with a younger Chaos upon the surface of old Miltia. It's there that the sum of two units of them encounter Jin Uzuki, as well as Margulis, who at that point doesn't at the same time bear a scar on his face...
