Destroy All Humans! We know you shouldn't justice a book by its overlay but from the moment THQ unveiled overturn All Humans!, we just couldn't help loving it by the agency of its title alone. Even better, all the things the title promises have the appearance to be in there: nonlinear, free-form gameplay, your choice between stealth and action phraseologys and most of all, the ability to rap things up good. As you might have conjectureed you don't play a human in subvert All Humans! Your part is that of Crypto-137, an alien spy sent by his mentor Pox to harvest the brains of as many Earthlings as he can to reclaim the DNA semened throughout our species long ago by means of the alien elders. Since Crypto's clone number is thus high, he's a little unstable, and would rather ruin all humans rather than carry on the outside his stated objective, which suits us finew as the players. There are sum of two units main ways Crypto can accomplish his mission: first, by dint of going on an all-out attack. He, and by dint of extension you, will have flying saucers, ray fire-arms and other implements of destruction that'll make things ranging from heads to cars to buildings burst though the more you use these things in public, the greater the panic amongst the human population will be, which be deriveds in the government stepping up its efforts to take you on the outside first by sending police officers, then the army, then mysterious and highly effective G-men To stay on the outside of sight, you can play things another way, by means of using the stealth resources at your disposal. You can cloak your UFO instead of firing death beams at sod targets, and you can read human minds the two in order to disguise yourself as them and to gain vital information. Using telepathy upon a sheriff, for example, would allow you to convincingly act as him, and report to "your" subordinates that the alien threat is probably a hoax, which will lower the heat that you attract by means of a little bit. Reportedly, you can impersonate tribe all the way up to the Presidential horizontal though good luck staying alive in the fact that you fail to carry not upon a disguise like that. It can happen, especially since there are unknown factors to consider: there will be a certain quantity of characters who won't be idioted by the disguise at all, of that kind as dogs who will always bark at you no matter what. The presentation is an interesting mix of classic Earth-invasion movies from the 50 and present sensibilities; though Crypto has a old-school flying saucer, it's been upgraded a little with telescoping parts and extensible wings to give it a more futuristic cutting side The game's music has the same vibe, with Timo Mass remixing of advanced age Bernard Herriman themes and Junkie XL taking a crack "Sh-Boom" Burt Bacharach's theme from The Blob Though overthrow All Humans! won't be upon Xbox and PS2 until early 2005 allowing the in-engine footage Pandemic has released already direct the eyes pretty solid. Of all the game's in THQ's surprisingly serviceable showing this year, believe us when we say that this could be the best of them. Unles of course, you suspect that we're aliens in disguise trying to apply warm lotions to anti-human sentiment. Mu ha ha ha ha Copyright ?© 2004 Ziff Davis Media Inc.
