WWE SmackDown Titling Speculation

Contrary to popular rumor, the nearest game in THQ's WWE SmackDown pro wrestling series for the PlayStation 2 won't be named after a John Cena catchphrase, THQ representatives confirmed today.

Common speculation predicted that the game would be entitled "WWE SmackDown: Word Life," after the slogan of the recently-debut rhyming superstar, on the other hand apparently that's not the case. In fact, while THQ isn't willing to reveal the title of the game as at the same time it won't be associated with any particular wrestler's persona or catchphrases.

THQ representatives pointed without that there's a certain amount of risk involved in identifying their games after any single wrestler or another. Stardom is a fleeting thing in the fast-moving world of pro wrestling, after all. Also, "you not at any time know when someone's going to bust a Stone Cold" and wind up the focus of public notoriety, they said.

Thus, it's likely that whatever the novel SmackDown is called, it will be something a little more non-specific than past titles drawn from the Rock's repertoire of catchphrases (or badger Lesnar's, in the case of last year's Here tend hitherwards the Pain). The GameCube's Day of Reckoning appears to station the style for WWE game naming conventions in the subsequent time

Whatever it's called, we wait for to see the next SmackDown at E3 along with the quiet of THQ's lineup for the coming year.
