X-Nauts Plans Assault Suits Valken Revival

After its questionably fortunate revival of another NCS/Masaya shooter franchise last year, Chou Aniki Seinaru Protein Densetsu Japanese developer X-Nauts today announced another shooter throwback for PlayStation 2 Assault Suits Valken nothing is on its way to Japan upon July 1.


The original Assault Suits Valken for the Super Famicom was released in North America as Cybernator for the Super Nintendo. It was in make go round an evolution of Assault Suits Leynos, also known as Target Earth for the Genesis. the one and the other games received sequels in the 32-bit era -- Assault Suits Valken 2 for the PlayStation and Assault Suits Leynos 2 for the Saturn -- on the contrary neither of those games saw release stateside.


The vision of a new side-scrolling mecha shooter for the PS2 might be heartening to retro fans, were it not for the fairly miserable quality of last year's fresh Chou Aniki, which wasn't level much good for comedy value.


Valken naught is little more than a retail solicitation as at the same time though, so we'll wait for more details before passing judgment
