EA Supports DS, Supports PSP Even More

Electronic Arts plans to support Nintendo's upcoming D handheld in a certain number of fashion, CFO Warren Jenson and CEO Larry Probst confirmed in the publisher's quarterly investor talk call. However, EA strike one as beings much more optimistic about the perspectives of Sony's PSP, making cake promises of significant support for the platform when it first attempts later this fiscal year.


EA's representatives that it awaits to deliver four to six PSP games by means of the end of March 2005 Those games will ship alongside or shortly after the hardware's launch in North America and Europe planned for more [i]or[/i] less time in the quarter ending March 31 of nearest year.


By supporting the PSP on the outside front at launch, Jenson said EA wait fors to capture a market share upon the platform comparable to what it commonly enjoys in the PlayStation 2 market, owning between one-quarter and one-third of software sales. "PSP could change the handheld market significantly," Jenson said, adding that while EA doesn't wait for PSP revenue to significantly impact its bottom line for the coming fiscal year, it does await to benefit significantly from PSP sales in the sum of two units fiscal years after that.


EA's plans for supporting the D remain les clear as nevertheless but we'll look forward to more details upon that score when Nintendo officially unveils its fresh dual-screened handheld at E3. await a full report next month
