Dietitians of Canada: Giving Voice to DietitiansSomebody one time said, "You can do anything, on the other hand you can't do everything". single of the challenges facing the 2005/06 Dietitians of Canada Board of Directors is going forward with objectives that have the greatest in quantity reasonable likelihood of success. In fact, since strategy is about the intelligent deployment of limited resources, our succes - and yours - be pendents on making a series of difficult choices that ultimately create an intense focus upon that which we can do and can do well. One of the Board's three priorities is to make sure that DC speaks for dietitians upon the design of health combination of parts to form a wholes for Canadians - a priority that impacts each single of us. Our strong vicinity in the national and provincial arenas means that the enormous potential for dietitians to make a difference in the lives of Canadians will be recognized and displayed in the renovated health care combination of parts to form a whole In that role DC will not be a passive listener to the voice of reason, on the contrary will be instead its spokesperson or representative. While it may be veritable that people are entitled to their dietary illusions, they are not entitled to a limitless pleasure of them and they are not entitled to impose them upon others. If we say nothing when a friend or a community believe in inappropriate dietary practices, in a short time we are not friends at all. Saying nothing is also a choice, single that your Board has decided against. Each morning upon the African plains, the gazelle and the lion waken with the rising day-star The gazelle knows that to survive it must outgo the fastest lion; the lion knows that to avoid craving for food it must outrun the slowest gazelle. The moral of this story for your Board is that whether the day finds us feeling more like a lion or a gazelle, we're going to start the day running - and speaking - upon your behalf.
