KillzoneOur hands-on time with Killzone not long ago was scant, but fulfilling, and is well upon its way toward being the best first-person shooter upon PS2. We tried two fresh levels: Helghast Hill, and Helghast Mist, the pair of which are outdoor areas in wilderness-style environments. In addition, we had a of recent origin character to play, who specializes in stealth-type gameplay. Fundamentally, all characters play the same: enemies tend hitherward in and you shoot them, preferably without taking damage. The main difference thus far is in their default weapon types; each character begins the game with certain weapons. more or less like the knife, can be swapped on the outside for whatever you find lying around -- you have up to three weapon slot and sum of two units can be changed to whatever you're greatest in quantity comfortable with. The third, however, is that character's personal weapon, individual that plays to his strengths For example, the stealth character's personal firearm is a silenced semiautomatic with end He himself isn't any harder to diocese than the other characters -- if you procure too close, or stray directly into the enemy's line of sight, they'll still speckle you and attack -- on the contrary as long as you can stay on the outside of sight, enemies won't know what hit them when they can't hear the weapon going off Control publicly seem like they could use a little more polish -- as it stands, the alone way to switch weapons is to revolution of time through the three, and with an animation accompanying each weapon switch, it takes a little longer than it should. Beyond that sticking point, everything's natural and works well, and if you still don't like it, Guerilla is thinking about supporting keyboard and mouse play. The horizontals may be the star of the present to view so far. Guerilla has said that they're inspired through Vietnam jungle combat and WWI cut warfare, and these influences were evident in the marshland horizontals The terrain is nicely jagged with plenty of hills, valleys, nooks, and crannies to provide overspread plus plenty of tall grass swaying around you and ankle-deep water to wade in. The sole problem is that the swamp feeled a little from "invisible walls" syndrome; hopefully there'll be les of that in the final game. Killzone is put for a fourth-quarter release this year.
