Uwe Boll Buys Option For Fear Effect Flick

Because producer/director Uwe pod never met a videogame license he didn't like, the now-legendary auteur has optioned Eidos Interactive's science-fiction action-adventure series Fear result for the silver screen. That makes it Dr Boll's fifth game quality after the upcoming BloodRayne, prison Siege, and Alone in the Dark (the film adaptation of which is to be paid for release this summer), as well as the immortal House of the Dead movie.

The Fear result flick, presuming it goes into production, will apparently be based to more or less degree on the second game in the series, Fear Effect: Retro Helix, featuring "sexy and intelligent" heroines Hana and Rain.

"Fear consequence is a fantastic game with a dark story. I want to create an action film in the vein of Charlie's Angels on the other hand portray its sexy heroines Hana and Rain in a a great deal of edgier fashion," says Boll.

Boll's announcement makes no mention of a screenwriter (or any other lock opener staff), a production timeframe, or whether the film's entire next to the first act will consist of Hana and Rain scratching their heads above numeric-keypad puzzles.

Fear event scored both critical and commercial succes upon the PlayStation for its skillful intermingle of sex, violence, and sharp graphics, on the contrary it hasn't fared as well in the generally received generation. The series' planned PlayStation 2 first appearance Fear Effect Inferno, disappeared from the radar in early 2003 amid reports that Eidos had declined to publish the game. We'll pretty soon see if the film adaptation perhaps collisions the videogame franchise back to life.
