Ubisoft Has More Hits Than Misses In 2003

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was a breakout hit for Ubisoft last year, selling a certain quantity of two million units worldwide, the publisher announced today in its latest quarterly report. The Prince's big splash helped make up for disappointing sales from a certain number of other debuting franchises.


Michel Ancel's action-adventure Beyond serviceable & Evil and the comicbook-inspired first-person shooter XIII one as well as the other posted disappointing sales -- Ubisoft attributed a shortfall of 10 million euro ($125 million) compared to its expectations to be paid to lower-than-expected performance from those titles.


Rainbow Six 3 for Xbox helped pick up a certain number of of the slack, however, selling 13 million units worldwide. upon the whole, Ubisoft still had a prosperous October-December quarter in 2003, posting a 293% increase in sales income compared to the same quarter of 2002
