Codemasters Picks Up Soldiers: Heroes of WWII

Expanding its portfolio of titles from beyond what used to be the Iron Curtain, Codemasters today announced plans to publish Soldiers: Heroes of World War II, a novel action-strategy hybrid from Ukrainian developer Best Way. A third-person game in the vein of Commandos, Soldiers is to be paid out for the PC this summer

Soldiers features more than 25 missions in campaigns for all three major nations upon the Allied side -- the United States, Great Britain, and the Soviet Union. The game proffers multiple levels of control above your force of vehicles and special operations numbers You can use the "Team" manner to move an entire unit of numbers as in a realtime strategy game, or switch to a closer view in the "Direct Control" way to command an individual solder

The variety of command options lends itself to a variety of strategies as well, thus players can muster their entire force for a frontal assault or occupy individual specialist troops for a finesse approach. Individual soldiers can commandeer vehicles or stationary installations (like artillery pieces), with equal reason you might swipe an enemy vehicle to create havoc behind the lines.

Both the Allied and Axis sides will have access to more than 100 vehicles (including jeep trades motorcycles, armor, and aircraft) and more than 25 weapons for infantrymen. All those implements of destruction can be used to efficiently ruin the entire game environment, with varying horizontals of damage for buildings and other stationary constitutions and a detailed physics protoplast to govern the behavior of bullet and shrapnel.

Multiplayer gameplay will of course be upon offer via LAN or online, with support for the couple cooperative and competitive action. For the replete details, including a new trailer movie, check without the Codemasters website.
