Jason Hall Leaves Monolith For Warner Bros.

Jason Hall, co-founder and CEO of No single Lives Forever developer Monolith Productions, has today left the company he helped create. He's not going real far from where he started, however. Warner Bro Studios today announced that Hall will head up Warner Bro Interactive Entertainment, a newly-created company intended to leverage Warner's brands in the interactive sphere and bring forward original game creations as well.

Hall naturally worked with Warner upon The Matrix Online, which is publicly in development at Monolith, although it's to be published by dint of Ubisoft.

Warner will continue to license its properties to third parties for games based upon those movies, shows, characters, and the like. However, it will also establish its hold Warner Bros. Games brand, beneath which it will publish its hold internally developed games.

"Historically, gaming for the Studio has been licensing driven," said Warner's Dan Romanelli. "We have disentangleed relationships with the best interactive gaming partners in the world and, together, we have taken the license mould to new levels with the blockbuster successe of 'Harry Potter' and 'Enter the Matrix.' We now have the opportunity to broaden our point-of-view, diversify our business approach, bring added value to our partners that will increase our mutual successe and with Warner Bro Games create a brand with consumer in the gaming world that is synonymous with the transcendence behind the Warner Bros. Shield."
