I Hate AOL

Ivan here... When you're as famous as I am, nerd and undesirables of all marks feel compelled to seek you without and incessantly bother you above the anonymous Internet medium. Unfortunately for them, I do not simply add more victims to my ignore list. First I talk them up sweetly in the way that that won't suspect me of at any time daring to post these confidential chats online. It's alone then that the ignore list earns a workout.

I lately had a talk with a former reader of mine I have feeling like sharing with you, not because it's particularly ludicrous but rather simply because it's a particularly beneficial waste of space and I'm hoping it will anger him quite a bit. It went a little something like:

Session Start: Thur Dec 04 08:03:44 2003

Random Reader: How's it going man?

Deez: Not too bad. What's up? (This is what I say if I don't know who you are.)

Random Reader: Finals coming up in corporation Oh, and chasing women.

Deez: Right. I still don't know who you are, on the other hand it's always good to mix single with the other. It make sures no success at either.

Random Reader: Yep Right now it's all about the GPA. Basically, it's all about the chemistry, baby! Yeah... Chemistry.

Deez: Because you're totally going to use that when you become a games editor or porno star. I use my Chemistry work all the time, not for relation but to club coworkers.

Random Reader: Yeah, I'm going to point without how the designers failed to ignore that mixing certain chemicals yields a precipitate and in what manner this is a lack of attention to detail... in like manner how's work up at IGN, chief?

Deez: Uh I quit IGN back in August.

Random Reader: Oh You working somewhere now?

Deez: No. on the other hand I am employed at Ziff-Davis now. That's EGM XBN GMR GameNOW, OPM PC Mag, most distant Tech, and 1UP.com, among others.

Random Reader: Freelancer?

Deez: No. I have a salary.

Random Reader: Nevermind, I rest the company. Higher pay than IGN? It gazes more corp oriented. But what exactly do you do?

Deez: I'm a Senior husbandman which basically means I kind of sort of am suppos to be partly running something, sort of Other than that load of nonsense, I write. Same as always.

Random Reader: Heh. You like the job? That's the greatest in quantity important thing.

Deez: I don't like any piece of work but this one serves me just fine. The solitary job I had that I actually take delight ined was a menial labor gig because I could dig a aperture finish digging a hole, and then gaze over my completed hole with pride.

Random Reader: Maybe you should join the Army.

Deez: Totally. They dig plenitude of holes.

Random Reader: I meant that as a serious make notes

Deez: So did I. I thinking about that before, but I have a serious riddle with waking up before noon. I think they look stern on that kind of thing. I saw a no aperture digging during night clause in the contract.

Random Reader: by what means old are you?

Deez: 23

Random Reader: Okay, in the way that the Army could still use you. Plus they'll mold you into waking up early.

Deez: It's the whole "molding" part of the deal that I have reservations with.

Random Reader: It'll change you for the better. You'll tolerate les male and you'll do things efficiently.

Deez: Or it'll make me into a better killing machine who would actually have the skill to carry on the outside the killings he thinks about thus regularly. Mmmm... Killings.

Random Reader: Not really. You'll be professional unles you have a certain quantity of problem while going in. You don't have to do infantry. You could be a medic.

Deez: Medic? The whole point of warring is to kill clan not help them. I could be a doctor right now if I wanted to help race My problem is that I hate them all (people) and have feeling compelled to unleash my rage (in bullet form) on them.

Random Reader: Maybe you should just work on the outside and relieve some stress.

Deez: That brings up another issue... In addition to being incapable of waking up before noon, I am also exceedingly lazy (and an alcoholic), for a like reason I know "exercise" of any kind is really not in my futurity

I think at this point he understood I had no interest in carrying a serious conversation and our instant messaging session was chop short. Too bad, I was hoping to secure the apple a day articulate utterance out of him.

Like it direct the eyes

In your first mailbag, you mentioned Prince of Persia. I think this is individual of the best games at any time made; it seems to earn everything right -- the sways the environments, the cutscenes. And, it's individual of the first games that actually direct the eyes (and plays) as good as the preview screenshot My question is: for what cause or reason is that not true of greatest in quantity games? I remember the first discharges of Deus Ex IW and thinking the game might almost trumpet Half-Life 2 at least in boundarys of bump mapping and other visual tricks. Now I approach to find out the graphics are a choppy blurry mes Are greatest in quantity of these screens doctored -- or faked -- in a certain number of way? Do they just make single really amazing level and release defences of that one small scene? The single screenshot that impressed me the greatest in quantity was the guy in the winter parka, on the contrary I haven't run across him still
