Eyetoy: Play In Sega Arcades

Though Sony normally has almost no involvement in the arcade business, whether in Japan or anywhere other in the world, it's made an exception in the case of Eyetoy: Play. In anticipation of the Japanese release of its motion-tracking mini-game collection, publicly scheduled for February 11, Sony has installed a demo version of the game in five Sega-run arcades around the Tokyo area.

The demo version includes three of the finished package's 12 mini-games, and is available at the following arcades:

Shibuya GIGO (Shibuya district, Tokyo)
Sega World Kasai (Ito Yokado Kasai department store, Tokyo)
Sega World Alkakito (Kinshicho district, Tokyo)
Sega World Natsubarii (Ito Yokado Kawasaki department store, Tokyo)
Sega World Odawara (Ito Yokado Odawara department store, Tokyo)

Though the game isn't owed for release for two month Sony already has a major marketing campaign lined up to assist Eyetoy in Japan -- it's plane signed up retired sumo fable Konishiki as its leading pitchman for the game. The campaign should show some pretty entertaining advertising, thus we'll keep you abreast of any novel creations along those lines in the coming year.
