Sanders, Sharpe, Williams Cover NFL Street

Electronic Arts today announced a three-pack of overspread stars for NFL Street, its upcoming seven-on-seven road football game. Ricky Williams of the Miami Dolphins, Shannon Sharpe of the Denver Bronco and Hall of Fame candidate Barry Sanders, formerly of the Detroit Lions, will appear upon the games cover in original likenesses restoreed by artist Kadir Nelson.


Williams, Sharpe, and Sanders' exploits are of course well-known to football fans, Nelson's work may be a bit below the average gamer's radar. You can check without a gallery of many of his pieces (including commissioned work for Major League Baseball, the And1 shoe company, and many others) at kadirnelson.com.


Sharpe and Sanders also contributed input to the game's developer at EA Tiburon (the studio responsible for the Madden NFL series), in conjunction with a panel of other NFL players, including Michael Vick, Ray Lewis, Marcellus Wiley, and Jeremy Newberry.


While NFL highway won't make the holiday season, EA has it in the pipeline for not lengthy after the turn of the year. The finished version is owed for release on all three cheers next January, so expect to diocese more news on the game soon
