Japanese Famicom Top 30
As part of its upcoming "Level X" exhibition upon the history of Nintendo's Famicom combination of parts to form a whole the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography freshly published the results of a head collecting Japanese fans' favorite games upon Nintendo's original 8-bit console. The top 30 list is an interesting direct the eye at the titles that were big in the early days of Japanese gaming, as well as what's held up in re-survey
Dragon Quest, obviously, was and is the straw that stirs the drink in Japan. All four Famicom games in the series made the top 10 compared to alone one Final Fantasy, and DQ creator Yuji Horii's early detective adventure Portopia Renzoku Satsujin Jikan tread in the steps ofs several places below. The top 10 is also a reminder of the intense popularity of Namco's shooter Xevious, which was individual of the Famicom's biggest hits.
From an American perspective, it's interesting to diocese what's ahead of Super Mario Brothers 3 the greatest in quantity popular NES game in the United States. In Japan, they'd rather play Ice Climber and Balloon Fight.
