ATI Clarifies Half-Life 2 Bundle Plans

ATI Technologies Inc. has updated its plans to package software by Valve Software, now that Valve's signature continuation Half-Life 2, has been delayed.

ATI did not specify when gamers could await Half-Life 2. Until then, however, purchasers of ATI cards will gain access to many games based upon the original Half-Life engine, many of which are already at liberty

"We understand that our customers are anxious to start playing Half-Life 2" ATI said in a statement. "For our customers who purchase Radeon yields that come bundled with Half-Life 2 and activate their Half-Life 2 harvest Key via Steam [Valve's online contented delivery service] before Half-Life 2 is available at retail, Valve and ATI are offering the Valve Premier Pack independent which includes the games: Half-Life, reckoner Strike, Team Fortress Classic, Deathmatch Classic, Half-Life: Opposing Force and Ricochet. This is a limited time bonus tender that expires once Half-Life 2 is available."

"Customers can use the activation lock opener from their Half-Life 2 interest warrant to download the Valve Premier Pack from Steam, Valve's online delivery mechanism, independent of charge, or can order a Steam Installation CD from ATI," the statement continues. "Half-Life 2 will be available via Steam the same day it is available at retail. Use of the Valve Premier Pack requires an internet connection and is control to acceptance of the Steam Subscriber Agreement. For more information please visit www.ati.com/online/hl2."
