New Advent Rising Screens

Majesco today released its first specific screens of Advent Rising, the upcoming PC and Xbox science-fiction adventure from developer Glyphx and author Orson Scott Card. Particularly noteworthy, we're told, is the inclusion of images representing the game's first-person view, which has been not long ago added to complement its primary third-person perspective.

Announced a bit before E3 this year, Rising is the first game in a planned "Advent Trilogy." It's based upon a world and characters created by means of Card, author of the Hugo- and Nebula-winning Ender's Game, and engages the latest version of Epic Games' Unreal Technology to draw its expansive world.

The trilogy posits a far coming time where humans are one race amid a vast galactic diaspora -- with equal reason vast, indeed, that most species have at no time heard of humans, despite the fact that they're the single race that may single day unite the galaxy. The single race that has heard of humans, the inquirers would rather not see the not away order of things upset, and confidences to eradicate human settlements wherever they are base On the last human outpost the game begins as hero Gideon Wyeth faces his proverbial destiny.

Majesco also plans to clarify the game's release date by and by Originally slated for release in the first quarter of nearest year, both versions of Advent Rising are now simply coming a certain quantity of time in 2004. Majesco's upcoming announcement will apparently allow us know whether it will be the first half of 2004 or the next to the first but our guts tell us to bet fairly heavily upon the second.

In the meantime, you can check without the trailer for the game -- available in small, medium, and stupid enormous sizes -- at www.AdventTrilogy.com.
