MacArthur Foundation - Newswire - Brief ArticleThe John D and Catherine T MacArthur Foundation has announced 23 MacArthur comrades for 2001. Each of the recipients will receive $500000 above five years with few stipulations as to by what means the money is spent--the comrades themselves are considered best equipped to decide in what way to best further their casts with this level of funding. Of the 23 fellowships, three were granted to individuals directly involved in the media arts: Inigo Manglano-Ovale is an artist and associate professor at the corporation of Architecture and The Arts, University of Illinois at Chicago.
