Luna Cornea. - periodical reviewsAfterimage freshly received the fifth issue of Luna Cornea, a quarterly publication that is supported by dint of the Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes in Mexico. Luna Cornea combines high quality black and white reproductions of historical and contemporary photographs by the agency of artists from North and southern America and Europe. Featured artists range from Jesus Sanchez Uribe, Laura Cohen, Mauricio Molina, and Gabriel Figueroa Flores to Josef Sudek Nan Goldin, and Helen Chadwick. Issue #5 ("Naturaleza Quieta") features essays that examine the relationship between the traditions of "still life" and "naturaleza muerta" or nature morte in photography. Contributions include Hermann Bellinghausen writing upon the "calligraphy of things" in the work of Maruch Santiz Gomez former Ten 8 editor John Taylor writing upon the role of the "nature morte" tradition in the works of nineteenth-century photographers Roger Fenton and Adolphe Braun, along with contributions from A.D.
