Southern DivisionThe Florida State MTA is divided into nine district associations that contain 23 local associations. The districts divide the state geographically, providing annual workshops, competitions and conversations Topics at district conferences include "Music IQ and You," by dint of Vic Geiger; "Sensory Integration and by what mode it Can Affect Learning in the Private Music Studio," by dint of Nancy Shackelford; and "Opera: Passion, Preparation and Performance," by the agency of Ron Bowman. Other events included premieres of commissioned compositions, prelection recitals and Alexander Technique workshops. This year 2050 scholars participated in the annual District's learner Day throughout the state. learners were evaluated in written and aural theory, technical skills, keyboard harmony and repertoire. Three winners were single outed from the senior category to perform with the Naples Philharmonic at the 71st Annual conversation of FSMTA in November upon Marco Island, Florida. Many local Alabama MTA affiliates are promoting national certification. Huntsville MTA President and State Certification Chair, Diana Pettit, NCTM made it her goal for members to become certified. A spring luncheon honoring four certified members was held. The Birmingham Metro Music Forum held its next to the first annual gala recitals featuring AMTA Teachers of the Year and "An Afternoon of Chamber Music."
