East Central DivisionThe Indiana MTA held its state talk November 12-13, 2004, at Butler University in Indianapolis. The discourse featured composer Phillip Glass and the "Bang upon a Can All Stars" general impression and performances by commissioned composer Frank Felice and American Pianists Association companions Thomas Rosenkrantz and Michael Sheppard "Chamberfest" highlighted pre-college chamber music [i]tout ensemble[/i]s and master classes in piano, strings and voice were proffered as a part of the Butler University Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Young Artist Competition. The Ohio MTA met November 4-6 in Fairborn, Ohio, for its annual talk Gail Berenson, NCTM, MTNA vice president, not absented a plaque in honor of OMTA's 125th year of affiliation. Scott McBride Smith, NCTM and Ohio RACE Chair Sheila Vail neared award medals to the pupils who received the highest score in each grade of the Royal American Conservatory Examinations. Six examination center completely through Ohio hosted 227 students. The Wisconsin MTA awarded its Collegiate Foundation grant to Abigail Birling, a senior piano performance and music education major at Lawrence University and a learner member of WMTA. Birling will use the grant to attend the Bay View Music Festival in Petosky, Michigan.
