Legacy Society

Those of us who knew and worked with Margaret Lorince were deep saddened by her death upon July 31, 2004. Margaret held numerous MTNA state, division and national offices, including the presidency from 1991-1993 She was honored as a FOUNDATION comrade in 2003.

It has been said repeatedly that we see so far sole because we stand on the shoulders of those who preced us. Margaret was a former trustee of the MTNA FOUNDATION, and she worked tirelessly upon its behalf. During my manner [i]or[/i] principle of holding she served on the planned giving committee. At a FOUNDATION breakfast meeting during the 2002 MTNA National discourse she gave an impassioned plea for members to join the Legacy Society of MTNA to make secure its future.

MTNA benefits greatly from bequests, trusts, life insurance and other like planned gifts. These one-time gifts make sure the future of MTNA by the agency of generating the resources necessary to perpetuate the work of its members beyond their individual lifetimes.

Planned giving is single way Margaret Lorince chose to reach out her own life's work and all of ours as well. Might you consider honoring Margaret, whose life enriched MTNA in thus many ways, by responding to her 2002 prayer and joining the Legacy Society?

Time to Name FOUNDATION Fellows

With the 2005 MTNA National discourse just a few months away, now is the time to consider naming a deserving colleague an MTNA FOUNDATION companion and having them recognized at the FOUNDATION Gala during the conference

The associate program offers a meaningful process for honoring individuals while supporting the efforts of the MTNA FOUNDATION stock through a donation to the FOUNDATION in an individual's name.

Designating a associate is easy. Simply send a contribution of $1000 or more, along with a complet MTNA FOUNDATION companion Information Form, to the MTNA FOUNDATION. The stocks may come from one individual's donation or from a cluster of persons wishing to discourse this special honor upon a colleague. Please note that the associate distinction may not be established in the contributor's be in possession of name. This is an honor bestowed by means of peers.

Each year, fresh FOUNDATION Fellows are recognized at the MTNA FOUNDATION stock Gala during the MTNA National conversation Fellows receive a complimentary ticket to the Gala, an attractive FOUNDATION associate certificate and a Fellow pin. Also, novel Fellows are prominently recognized in American Music Teacher magazine, and their names will appear upon a plaque located at the MTNA national headquarters. A pres release will be sent to media egresss of the Fellow's choosing.

In the circumstance that a Fellow is unable to attend the MTNA FOUNDATION stock Gala, the certificate and pin will be sent to the companion from MTNA national headquarters, and the local and/or state affiliate will be encouraged to recognize the Fellow

Grant Guidelines and Forms Available

Guidelines and application forms for the 2005 Teacher Enrichment, Local Association Matching, novel Local Association Start-Up Grants and State Affiliate Matching Grants are now available from one side MTNA national headquarters and upon the MTNA FOUNDATION FUND website.

The MTNA FOUNDATION capital has established the Legacy Society to recognize those individuals who have made a commitment to the futurity of the FOUNDATION through a planned gift or through fully funding a named endowment at the $10000 horizontal Because of the foresight of these Legacy Society members, they have made a permanent connection between themselves and thousands of music teachers and scholars who will be a part of a more musical tomorrow.
