Joseph Brye NCTM MTNA president in 1982 and 1983 died July 25 2004 at age 87 Brye serv MTNA in many ways quite through his life, including as MTNA national vice president for local associations and learner chapters, Oregon MTA president, chair of the MTNA Constitution and Bylaws Committee, chair of the Collegiate Activities Committee, Northwest Division president and as archivist.

A piano teacher for more than fifty years, Brye joined MTNA in 1949 He held bachelor and master of music stages from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. Brye also took classes toward his doctorate of musical arts step at the University of Southern California, sees Angeles.

An accomplished pianist and marimbist, in 1935 Brye toured Europe as the youngest member of the International Marimba concert He performed as a design pianist and professional accompanist through every part of the Midwest. Also a composer Brye wrote many works for instrumentalists and choral assemblages In 1965, he published a volume titled Basic Principles of Music Theory, still in use today.

Margaret Lorince, MTNA president from 1991-1993 died July 31 at age 78 She held numerous positions with MTNA, including chair of the Pedagogy Committee for five years. In 2003 she was honored by the agency of MTNA as a FOUNDATION associate Margaret also was a founding member of the West Virginia MIA.

Margaret held a B.A. stage from Oklahoma City University and an MM stage from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, of recent origin York. She was awarded professor emerita status by means of West Virginia University (WVU) after a career as an applied piano teacher and as director of the preparatory department at WVU Margaret also received the Distinguished Alumna Award from Oklahoma City University. from one extremity to the other of her career, she had articles published in Keyboard Companion and American Music Teacher magazine.

After moving to the Isle of Palms, southerly Carolina, Lorince devoted her energies to teaching piano and volunteering in the Charleston harmony League, the Charleston Music cudgel and the Isle of Palms Garden cudgel She chaired the Symphony League's Arts Advocacy Committee, promoting funding for arts education in southern Carolina.

Robert Marvin Hennekes, president of Music Teachers of the untilled died August 7, 2004, at age 73 Hennekes serv as state treasurer of the California Association of Professional Music Teachers and president of the Sunday afternoon designs program at the Palm Springs wild Museum.

As an educator, Hennekes was a teacher with the Detroit Public institutes Long Beach Public Schools and a professor at lengthy Beach City College. As an accomplished pianist and organist, he render free of accessed Hennekes Studio of Piano in 1985
