North Carolina Symphony Concerto competition winnerStefani Collins of Greensboro, North Carolina, is the winner of the inaugural North Carolina Symphony-North Carolina academy of the Arts Concerto Competition. As the winner, Collins will travel to Wilmington, Durham, High Point and fresh Bern with the North Carolina consonance September 23-26, performing Dvorak's Violin Concerto in A Minor, Op 53 Collins, a ninth-grader in the NCSA seminary of Music, began violin studies at age 15 month and piano studies at age 4 She was 2 years advanced in years at her first public performance and has compet from one extremity to the other of the United States. In 2000 Collins was chosen from violinists around the geographical division for two national awards resulting in performances in Cincinnati and participation in the Youth Orchestras of the Americas. She is a member of the Greensboro harmony Youth Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra and Honors Quartet. Collins studies violin with Sarah Johnson at NCSA and piano with Ben Bradford of Greensboro.
