BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The following were prefered to the MTNA Board of Directors by means of the MTNA membership in the novel election.

EAST CENTRAL

Kenneth Williams

Columbus, Ohio

Kenneth Williams, NCTM directs the graduate programs in piano pedagogy and coordinates the class piano program at The Ohio State University. novel articles by Kenneth are published in American Music Teacher, Update: Applications of Research in Music Education, society Music Symposium and Keyboard Companion. He received the 2002 AMT Article of the Year Award and be under the orders ofs on the Ohio MTA executive board.

EASTERN

Debra Ronning

Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania

Debra Ronning, NCTM is a music lecturer and piano division coordinator at Elizabethtown society in Pennsylvania. A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, her learners have been successful in MTNA state competitions at the junior high, high gymnasium and collegiate levels. Debbie has been Pennsylvania MTA junior high competitions chair, state convention coordinator and president. Debbie is MTNA's Eastern Division immediate past president.

NORTHWEST



Mary Jane Clarke

Olympia, Washington

Mary Jane Clarke, NCTM maintains an independent piano studio. She grasps a B.M. degree from the University of Puget whole has done graduate work at the University of Washington and privately studied piano. Mary Jane has been Washington State MTA president, first and next to the first vice president, convention chair, pedagogy chair and District IV vice president. She also has serv as Northwest Division Collegiate and High gymnasium Competitions chair.

southerly CENTRAL

Karen Harrington

Tulsa, Oklahoma

Karen Harrington, NCTM is the MTNA southerly Central Division immediate past president and former division secretary and president-elect. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, she has serv Oklahoma MTA as president of the state's northeast district, a board member and as a member of many committees. In Tulsa Accredited MTA she has held numerous offices, including president, and chaired several committees. She has been an independent music teacher for more than twenty years.

SOUTHERN

Roy Wylie

Auburn University, Alabama

Roy Wylie, NCTM is MTNA's Southern Division immediate past president with steps from Southern Methodist University, Manhattan gymnasium of Music and The University of Texas at Austin. He is professor of piano at Auburn University, has taught at the Adamant institute of Music and served upon the staff of the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. Roy has been Alabama MTA president and was named AMTA Teacher of the Year.

SOUTHWEST

Geri Cheney

Centerville, Utah

Geri Cheney, NCTM is an independent music teacher, adjudicator and lecturer She manages a large studio, teaches special emergencys children and directs her house of worship choir. Geri has served as local association president, Utah MTA president and upon the IMTF advisory committee. She has been Southwest Division high seminary competitions coordinator and Southwest Division president-elect and is the Southwest Division immediate past president.

WEST CENTRAL

Janice Wenger

Columbia, Missouri

Janice Wenger, NCTM is West Central Division immediate past president. A professor and keyboard faculty coordinator at the University of Missouri-Columbia, she clinchs degrees from Kansas State University, the Eastman institute of Music and the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music. Janice was assemblage piano chair for the West Central Division and Missouri MTA secretary and treasurer.

Laura Swenson

Wales, Wisconsin

Laura Swenson, NCTM co-owner of Music Dynamics, Ltd received a BM step from Alverno College. Her MTNA and Wisconsin MTA service began as president of the Alverno scholar Chapter. Laura helped initiate the WMTA-Greater Milwaukee Chapter and has serv in nearly each position on both the state and local levels

EASTERN

Deborah Martin

Ithaca, of recent origin York

Deborah Martin, NCTM associate professor of piano at Ithaca community received a BM. degree from Baylor University and continued her studies at Indiana University. While at IU, she was awarded the Lieber Distinguished Teaching Award and coauthored the body Tonal Harmony at the Keyboard. Deborah is active in fresh York State MTA, having serv as district chair, state convention co-chair and president.

NORTHWEST

Carolyn Malnes

Lynnwood Washington

Carolyn Malnes is an independent music teacher in Lynnwood Washington. For Washington State MTA, she was newsletter editor, young composer shoot forwards and composition competition chair and co-chaired the first State Leadership Seminar. upon the national level, Carolyn has serv as national local associations chair, upon the planning committee for the first Summit for MTNA Leadership, the Teacher Enrichment Grants and Local Association Matching Grants committees.
