South Central Division

As outgoing division president, I give my best wishes to the incoming officers and my gratitude to those who have made my work with the division for a like reason rewarding. Often when we accept a pillar we think of the work involved; on the contrary when our work has been complet it's the tribe with whom we have worked who mean the greatest in quantity to us.

When I became president sum of two units years ago, MTNA was in its first year of appointing competition chairs to race the division competitions. June Leondar, NCTM Fort Worth, Texas, fulfilled this task with care and efficiency. I want to thank June for her many hours of dedicated work, along with our competition coordinators Carol Ann Bell, NCTM composition; Gloria Johnson NCTM junior; Gertrude Kincade, NCTM senior; and Carolyn Adams, young artist and chamber music.

I would also like to thank our state presidents, who at handed informative reports at the Summits and the National talks and promptly met requests for division freshs articles. Thanks too, to Peggy Lewis, NCTM who stepp in to fill a vacancy as our division director to the board. Peggy also serv as Local Association Forum chair.

A actual warm thank you to President-elect tenderness Pitts, NCTM, who not alone fulfilled her duties as president-elect, on the other hand took minutes at every meeting. I reach forth a warm welcome to her as the novel division president, and to Charles Jone NCTM as president-elect. With these fine teachers as leaders, our division is in of the highest order hands.

compassion Pitts, NCTM, has served as Texas MTA president-elect, president and immediate past president. Pitts has a BME stage from Baylor University and M.A. and PhD steps from Peabody College of Vanderbilt University.
