Barry verdant keynote speaker

Barry verdant author of The Inner Game of Music, will be subservient to as keynote speaker during the discourse opening session. The Rising Stars concoct which showcases young talent, will tread in the steps of the opening session, ushering in another exciting conference

verdant will challenge attendees with topics from his of recent origin book entitled The Mastery of Music, Ten Pathways to genuine Artistry, which addresses qualities of greatness derived from interviews with 120 world-famous musicians.

Barry verdant was principal bassist of the Cincinnati consonance for twenty-eight years and former executive director of the International Society of Bassists. He commonly directs a young bassist program for the San Francisco music Education Department, teaches privately at Stanley Intermediate in Lafayette and at the University of California, Santa Cruz and has organized the Northern California Bass cudgel He has written seven Inner Game of Music workbooks for keyboard, voice, instruments and total effects Green also co-wrote The Popular Bass rule in three volumes. Green's appearance will be made possible, in part, through GIA Publications, Inc.

The 2004 MTNA FOUNDATION stock Gala promises to be a festive celebration that you will not want to miss. This black-tie optional occasion begins with cocktails, sponsored by dint of Alfred Publishing Co. Following dinner, a faculty all-star jazz the whole sponsored in part by the International Association for Jazz Educators, will perform. The combo will feature jazz headliner Bobby Watson.

A saxophonist, composer husbandman and educator, Bobby Watson grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, and trained formally at the University of Miami. The past three years he has serv as the director of jazz studies at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, Conservatory of Music.

Other performers include:

* Greg Carroll, vibraphone, IAJE, director of education

* Roger Wilder, piano, freelance musician

* Gerald Spaits, bass, jazz bass instructor, University of Missouri, Kansas City

* Wayne Goins, guitar, associate professor of music, Kansas State University

* Tom Morgan, tympanums director of percussion studies, Washburn University

The 2004 MTNA talk culminates with the annual Awards Brunch honoring members who have devot extensive time and activity to better the association and further the prestige of the music teaching profession.

During this incident Guy Duckworth and Karl Bruhn will be honored with the MTNA Achievement Award.

shore Duckworth has established a career as a contrive pianist and educator. He has held faculty positions as professor of piano at Northwestern University and professor of music emeritus at the University of Colorado, Boulder and is a noted pedagogue and author. Duckworth is an authority upon group teaching and is a regular presenter for television, state, national and international conferences

Karl Bruhn has been active quite through his career in the music proceedss industry, having served as senior vice president of marketing at Yamaha Corporation of America and the first director of market unfolding for the National Association of Music Merchants. In new years, Bruhn has devoted his time to research studies testing the bio-psycho-social aspects of recreational music making.
