South Central Division - MTNA Division NewsIn September, the Summit for MTNA Leadership was held in Cincinnati. Those who attended from the southerly Central Division were Arkansas President Sharon Ard, NCTM Oklahoma President Ron Lewis, NCTM Oklahoma President-Elect Mary Sallee, NCTM Division President Karen Harrington, NCTM and Louisiana President-Elect follow up Steck Turner, NCTM. From the Texas Association were State President Celinda Hallbauer, NCTM Texas President-Elect Sherry Frush, NCTM Texas Vice President for learner Affairs Janelle Schlaudt, NCTM, Texas Immediate Past President cognizance Newsome, Texas Vice President for Business Affairs Susan chogset NCTM, MTNA Conference Chair and Immediate Past Oklahoma President Ann Gipson, NCTM and Division President-Elect pity Pitts, NCTM. In addition to the division meeting, where we heard reports from our state presidents and shared ideas, we heard an interesting keynote articulate utterance by Douglas Lowry, the dean of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Sessions focused upon the workings of our national association, and members of the Cincinnati Opera performed at the banquet. Speakers also included our national officers and forum chairs. Meeting with MTNA members from around the geographical division is always a highlight. All who attended took abiding-place new ideas and memories of a amazing weekend. Plan now to attend our division competitions January 18 2004 upon the campus of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.
