Grawemeyer Award for Music Composition - Competitions - Brief ArticleThe University of Louisville gymnasium of Music is seeking applicants for its Grawemeyer Award for Music Composition 2005 a $200000 cash award granted in recognition of outstanding achievement by dint of a living composer in a large musical genre The composition can be choral, orchestral, chamber, electronic, song-cycle dance, opera, musical theater or an stretch outed solo work. The award will be granted for a work premiered during the five-year period between January 1 1999 and December 31 2003 Each access must be sponsored by a professional musical organization or an individual; a composer may not submit his or her hold work.
